Second Lieutenant Daniel McKee, who was shot down over Vienna and interned in a German prison camp 10 months, arrived in Fort Worth. He is spending a 60-day leave at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. R. McKee. While on leave he will also visit with his two brothers, Lieutenant John E. McKee, an instructor at Williams Field, Arizona, and Private Pat McKee, Amarillo Army Armed Forces. McKee was co-pilot on a B-24 that was attacked by German fighters and whose crew was forced to bail out. Before being shot down, McKee completed 22 mission with the 15th Air Force, for which he was awarded the Air Medal with two clusters. Like other released prisoners, McKee has regained much weight since he was freed April 29 at Moosburg, Germany. He was a Star-Telegram carrier-salesman in Gainesville. He was a student at the University of Texas, when he enlisted in 1942. McKee is shown in uniform standing by a bare wall, looking to the right and smiling.
