Description
Army doctor, nurse, and medical attendants, lift Corporal James E. Newman from the ambulance that brought him home from the airport. Newman, a prisoner of war on Luzon for three years, was given up to die after his liberation, but says, with his family, that he has come home to live. He is suffering from malnutrition, tuberculosis, laryngitis, and the after effects of beri-beri. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 3, 1945.
