    Description

Downtown Fort Worth reverberated with bursts of machine gun fire and the roaring motors of low-flying Navy Ferry Command planes and other ships, all a part of the observance of "Series E Bond Day". War bond booths did a rushing business at 10 street intersections in the business district. In one of the booth is Percy Dow, buying bonds in honor of his three sons in service, from Mrs. Pat Casey, left, and Miss Jennie V. Henderson. They are seated around a small table in the sidewalk corner, with bond advertising posters on the wall. As props, Private First Class Ralpha Hatchett from Camp Howze is manning the machine gun by the booth. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 30, 1945.
