Description
Robert E. Cross, driller with U. S. engineers, makes the first core test on the site of the proposed Benbrook dam, a part of the comprehensive Trinity River flood control project. Cross is shown in soiled work clothes and helmet, squatting and holding to the pole of the driller. He is also holding a hand tool. Behind him is the drilling machine. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, July 3, 1945.
