Description
Texas sectional tennis tournament in seven-days session will be held at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. The match, in the veterans' singles, will be between Leman Baker of Texas City and Carl Busch of Jasper and the consensus is that the winner of this third-round match will go on to annex the championship. Carl Busch is pictured here. He is shown seated on a bench in a room, wearing trousers, shirt, a hat and eyeglasses. He was born and reared in Groveton n Trinity County, Texas. Busch not only played tennis 35 years ago, later he served as sheriff and was noted for preserving peace and order during his term with a gun. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, June 27, 1945.
