Description
Over 300 Texas soldiers of the famed 86th 'Black Hawk' Division were excited to hit the soil of their home state when their special troop train paused recently at Texas and Pacific Station (T&P Station), Fort Worth, Texas, en route from Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, to Fort Sam Houston. Technical Sergeant (Tech. Sgt.) E. C. Young of Denton and Fort Worth, is pictured here. He is shown standing against the train stopped at the station and posing for the camera. He is wearing uniform. His mother, Mrs. R. S. Young resides in Denton. His wife, a file clerk at Convair, is living in Fort Worth. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, June 22, 1945.
