    Description

Over 300 Texas soldiers of the famed 86th 'Black Hawk' Division were excited to hit the soil of their home state when their special troop train paused recently at Texas and Pacific Station (T&P Station), Fort Worth, Texas, en route from Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, to Fort Sam Houston. Private First Class (Pfc.) James T. Benesh of Fort Worth is pictured here. He is standing on the ground, dressed in uniform and smiling for the camera. Behind him is the train where other soldiers are seated near the windows. Private First Class (Pfc.) Benesh is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jame T. Benesh. He will spend his furlough with his parents, 310 N. Harding Street, Fort Worth, Texas. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, June 22, 1945.
