Description
A special troop train bearing 377 Texas members of the 86th Division Black Hawks stopped at Texas & Pacific (T&P) Station on it's way to Fort Sam Houston. In this photograph, two buddies give Captain Jim (Sheriff) Moreland of Balling, center, a bit of razzing as they introduce him as "the toughest man in the ETO." His father is sheriff of Runnels County. Fellow officers are, left, 1st Lt. Bil lHale of Waco, and 1st Lt. Jack Carter of Luling. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition June 22, 1945.
