Description
One of the few "Black Hawks" to have his folks on hand when the special troop train bearing 377 Texas members of the 86th Division came into Texas & Pacific (T&P) Station was Private First Class Walter H. Swain holding his 3 years old daughter, Susan, as his uncle Harry T. Parker, mother-in-law, Mrs. E. C. Young, and Mrs. Walter H. Swain of Graham, look on happily. The train made a stop in Fort Worth en route to it's destination, Fort Sam Houston. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition June 22, 1945.
