Description
A special troop train bearing 377 Texas members of the 86th Division Black Hawks stopped at Texas & Pacific (T&P) Station on it's way to Fort Sam Houston. The men exuberant over being back in their home state, spent a two-hour stopover cavorting about T&P Station. Left to right, Lieutenant Roy Sones of Sour Lake, Lieutenant Dog Doggett of Hamilton, and Lieutenant Henry W. House of Turkey. All three of them are leaning out the a railroad car window and holding a flag with a swastika symbol. Written on the side of the railroad car are "Home to Texas" and "From Germany Home to Beaumont, Sour Lake, Turkey, Hamilton."
