    Description

    Colonel E. D. Brockett Junior is a decorated officer in the United States Army. He has spent thirty-months in the Southwest Pacific, mostly participating in amphibious landings. The petroleum engineer is returning home to Fort Worth, Texas on a thirty day leave. He will spend his time off with his wife and their seven-year old son. Colonel Brockett wears six medals - Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star, Oak Leaf Cluster, British Distinguished Service Order, and an Air Medal. The colonel is a graduate of Paschal High School and Texas A&M, with a Bachelors of Science in petroleum engineering. In December of 1940, as a member of the reserves, he was called into service as a first lieutenant. He has since been promoted to Colonel at only the age of thirty-two. Colonel Brockett is shown standing in an at-ease position, dressed in his military uniform. There is a framed map of Texas at right.
