Description
The first of the mattress making projects being sponsored by the Tarrant County Home Demonstration Club Council at Azle, Texas. Mrs. Minnie Prater, seated at the sewing machine, assisted by Mrs. Lee Moran, standing, right, is sewing the first ticking for a mattress. Mrs. Prater is wearing a floral print dress. Mrs. Moran is wearing a dress, floral print blazer, a necklace and eyeglasses. They are both members of the Azle Home Demonstration Club. Application to make mattresses for themselves can be made by any farm family having an annual income of less than $400. West Texas cotton for filler and ticking is furnished by the Government. The only cost to the applicants is 35 cents for thread and needles.
