Major Weldon A. Rippy is in Fort Worth, Texas visiting his mother, Mrs. Sadye Rippy. Major Rippy is a veteran of twenty-two months, fighting in New Guinea and the Philippines. In the last eighteen months, he rose from the rank of corporal to major. He wears the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, and Air Medals. Major Rippy is a 1930 graduate of Diamond Hill High School. After visiting his mother, he will return home to Corpus Christi, Texas to see his wife and daughter. His daughter, Patricia Diane is graduating from Junior High School. Major Rippy is shown standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform.
