Mrs. Ralph D. Murray received the citation and certificate for the Purple Heart posthumously awarded to her son. Private First Class Charles E. Murray, 19, was killed on Iwo Jima, March 15 while fighting with the 5th Marine Division. He attended Terrell High School until his last year in high school when his family moved to Columbus Ohio.
