Description
Homer James Ryker, twenty-six, a 45th Division mess sergeant with six years of soldiering behind him, had 116 points. Discharged at Fort Sam Houston, Ryker arrived home, that evening and started out hunting a civilian job. He is married and has a 21-month-old daughter, Patricia Jean, born while he was overseas. Ryker participated in five major campaigns with the 45th. His home when he enlisted was Okemah, Oklahoma. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, May 15, 1945.
