Private First Class Jimmie Spinks, veteran of 19 months in European Theater of Operations. He was captured in Normandy by a German patrol, but was recaptured by an American scouting party 6 hours later. He is standing in front of a wall smiling while wearing his military uniform. He is wearing an European Theater Operations ribbon that includes the Combat Infantry-men's Badge and the Purple Heart for wounds received in Brest, Germany.
