Description
Signalman First Class R. E. Shrewder has completed thirty-eight months of combat duty in the Pacific area with the Navy. He is home in Fort Worth, Texas visiting his mother, Mrs. S. S. Shrewder. He receive a commendation from his commanding officer for heroic performance of duty during a typhoon in the Philippine Sea in December, 1944. Mr. Shrewder attended Amon Carter Riverside High School and was employed at Lydick Roofing Company prior to entering the service. Mr. Shrewder is standing in an at ease stance, dressed in his military uniform.
