Goldthwaite Man Has Purple Heart. Private First Class Cruz Corona holds the Purple Heart for serious wounds received October 26, six days after he had participated in the invasion of Leyte with the 7th Division. The son of Mrs. Joe Corona, who lives near here, he has three brothers overseas, Corporal Joe M. Corona, with an infantry division in Germany; Corporal Paz Corona, based in England with a service group, and Private First Class Nicholas T. Corona, rounding out two years with a quartermaster section in New Caledonia. Photograph of Private First Class Cruz Corona dressed in his military uniform.
