Portrait in uniform of Private First Class (Pfc.) Emmit A. Ingram, who was awarded the Purple Heart with one cluster, the Pacific Theater of Operations ribbon with one battle star and the Arrowhead cluster, and the Philippine Liberation ribbon with two battle stars. He is 19-year old and now visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Ingram, 4833 Harley. Ingram was in the first wave to land on Leyte and was wounded twice in the battles for the liberation of the Philippines. He enlisted in the Army in May 1943. He was sent to Kalamazoo College, Michigan, for three months under the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) program. He served as a scout in a rifle squad. He is a graduate of Arlington Heights High School and attended Texas A. & M. College for two years. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, March 30, 1945.
