Description
Fort Worth Mayor Roscoe Carnrike, signs a proclamation designating Saturday and Sunday as days of mourning period for President Franklin Roosevelt and calling for a citywide observance of a two-minute interval of silent prayer at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Throughout the city, generally, and in most of the busy war plants, activities will be suspended for a two-minute silent prayer period at 3 pm, the time for start of the funeral in Washington, D.C. Amber traffic signals will bring vehicular and pedestrian traffic to a halt for the two- minute observance. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, April 14, 1945.
