    Description

    Portrait of Jack L. Butler, 27, former Star-Telegram reporter, is now in the Navy. He entered the Navy as a seaman first class and is at San Diego for indoctrination training. He expects to be transferred to radar school later. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Butler of Mineral Wells. He attended school at Mineral Wells, at TWC in Fort Worth and obtained a bachelor of journalism degree at the University of Texas. He began his newspaper career with the Tyler Morning Telegraph and later became managing editor of the paper. Subsequently he was managing editor of the Gladewater Times Tribune, and news editor of the Austin Tribune. In this picture, he is wearing a suit with eyeglasses. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, evening edition, April 3, 1945.
