Description
Army Major E. Gerald Jones was in the Dutch East Indies and Australia for six years. He left the country in 1939 to work for Standard Oil Company in Borneo. After Pearl Harbor he was sent to Sumatra and he ended up making sure of his reserve officer's commission during active duty with the AAF on Java with men who had come from the Philippines. He is a graduate from Paschal High and Texas A & M. He appears to be sitting on a couch next to his mother, Mrs. Enoch Jones. Maj. Jones appears to be wearing his uniform and his mother is wearing a black dress and eyeglasses.
