His family members reading the message, left to right, are his wife Mrs. Barbara Jeanne Graves, his brother Lieutenant George Graves, and his mother Mrs. E. G. Graves. Mrs. Barbara Jeanne Graves is wearing a hat, floral print dress, gloves, and a pearl necklace. Lieutenant Graves is departing for training as a fighter pilot. He is dressed in his military uniform. Mrs. E. G. Graves is wearing a hat, a blouse, a blazer with a matching skirt, and gloves.
