Description
Southwest Exhibition and Fat Stock Show Champions Auction. Sergeant Warren Cowen, left, and Sergeant Ted Shrum act as buyers from McCloskey General Hospital. Sergeant Shrum lost his legs while fighting in the Pacific Arena. He is looking over the list of beefsteaks-on-the-hoof before making a bid. Sergeant's Shrum's bid was high enough to win the second prize Hereford in Class 1. He promptly donated the 905-pound animal to McCloskey General Hospital where both soldiers are stationed. Both men are wearing their military uniforms.
