    Shown here is Miss Edna Nelson, 20-year-old who came to United States from Northern Ireland. In this picture she is sitting in a chair, facing front and smiling. She is wearing a dress. Edna is the intended bride of Private (Pvt.) Hugh Allen Alfrey, who was killed in a motorcycle crash near his station at Camp Mackall, North Carolina. Edna arrived in Fort Worth to visit his mother, Mrs. Alma C. Alfrey. Edna met Private Alfrey in North Ireland while he was working as a technician for an aircraft company. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, March 16, 1945.
