Description
Private First Class (Pfc.) Amon W. Taber of Comanche is pictured here. This is a copy of his half bust portrait. He is dressed in military uniform. Private (Pfc.)Taber has been awarded the Purple Heart for wounds suffered October 12 during the attack on Metz. He was a cook with a mechanized cavalry unit. He was given wonderful care and saved by the doctors. At present he is stationed at Hoff General Hospital, Santa Barbara, California and has been spending his leave here with his wife, the former Miss Cora Mozelle Croker, and their three daughters. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, March 20, 1945.
