Lieutenant, Junior Grade (jg) William S. Potts is pictured here. He is shown standing against a bare wall, facing front and looking to the camera. He is dressed in Navy uniform. Lieutenant Potts, photographic officer of a career-based fighter squadron wears seven battle stars for duty in the Pacific. During the nine months he was on fleet duty, participated in the invasion of Palau, all the Philippine battles, and engagements in the China Sea and around Formosa. He was instructor at Pensacola and will report there for assignment to the staff of the Navy Photo School. He had been on the editorial staff of the Star-Telegram eight years. He is the son of Mrs. Marina Potts of Abilene, Texas. Recently he is spending a 30-day leave with his wife and daughter, Carol Ann. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, March 8, 1945.
