Description
Winners Frank Sims, left, Haskell County 4-H Club boy, is shown with his grand champion calf, and Joe Ben Whitaker, Clay County club boy, with his reserve champion calf at the annual Wichita Falls Spring show. Both Frank and Joe are standing by the sides of their calves and holding the halters. Frank's calf, bred by Brown & Davis of Throckmorton, Texas, went through the ring at a record price for the show, $1.10 per pound, and Joe's calf, bred by George D. Keith & Sons, Wichita Falls, Texas, brought him 65 cents. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, March 5, 1945.
