These eight Texas Golden Glove Champions will represent the Lone Star State in the Tournament of Champions. The Golden Gloves National Tournament will be held in Chicago, Illinois. Standing in a row, left to right, are Corporal Gene Gosney (Heavyweight), Corporal Tom Attra (Light-heavyweight), Private Jim McGrath (Middleweight), J. W. Blankenship (Lightweight), Gilbert Garcia (Welterweight), Gilbert Areche de la Cruz (Flyweight), Hector Marquiz (Bantamweight), and Seaman First Class L. W. "Pee Wee" Williams (Featherweight).
