Lightweight final. Corporal LeRoy Carlson of El Paso, Texas, was down but not out when this picture of the lightweight Golden Gloves bout was taken at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. J. W. Blankenship of Beaumont, Texas kayoed him a few minutes later, however, in the first round to win the crown. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 20, 1945.
