Description
Mrs. Catherine Gunn shows her children, Stanley Terry and Cathleen, the certificate of the Purple Heart. It was awarded to their father, Stanley Gunn, posthumously. Mr. Gunn was a war correspondent for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He was killed on October 29, 1944 during a Japanese bombing of Leyte. Mr. Gunn was also awarded the Presidential Citation. Mrs. Gunn is sitting on a chair wearing a polka dot blouse and a skirt. Stanley Terry is sitting on his mother's lap dressed in a striped shirt and overalls. Cathleen is wearing a dress and standing beside the chair.
