Description
First Lieutenant (Lt.) Robert D. Lesher is a Havoc pilot of the 9th Air Force in the United States Army Air Force. He returned to the United States in November, 1944 after completing sixty-five combat missions in Europe. He was recently reassigned to Del Rio, Texas. Lieutenant (Lt.) Lesher has been awarded the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), and the Air Medal with 10 clusters. He participated in two missions on D-Day. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Lesher and the husband of Mrs. Norma Lesher, all of Houston, Texas. He is shown in his official military photograph, dressed in his military uniform. This is a copy of his framed portrait photograph. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 9, 1945.
