Eight Texas Golden Glove Champions will represent the Lone Star State in the Tournament of Champions. The Golden Gloves National Tournament will be held in Chicago, Illinois. Standing in a row, left to right, are Seaman Lloyd W. Williams (Featherweight), Gilbert Garcia (Welterweight), Private First Class Tom Attra (Light-Heavyweight), Private Jim McGrath (Middleweight), J. W. Blankenship (Lightweight), Alec Gonzales, Gilbert Areche de la Cruz (Flyweight), and Hector Marquez (Bantamweight). Corporal Gene Gosney, the heavyweight winner, is not pictured.
