    Residents of Fort Worth, Texas, and the surrounding area are happily reading the morning edition of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The headline tells the story that 513 were rescued by the United States Army Rangers from a Japanese prison camp on Luzon. Reading the newspaper are Mr. and Mrs. A. Easterwood, of Weatherford, Texas, their daughter, Mrs. V. D. McCreary, and their grandsons, Wayne and Jerry McCreary. The Easterwoods are reading the joyful news of the rescue of their son, Private (Pvt.) Elbert A. Easterwood. Mr. and Mrs. Easterwood are sitting on a couch. Mrs. Easterwood is wearing dress with floral pattern and eyeglasses. Mr. Easterwood is dressed in trouser, shirt and sweater. Mrs. McCreary is wearing a dress and a sweater and two boys are wearing sweaters. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 2, 1945.
