Description
Side by side with civilian workers, soldiers with machine shop experience turn out artillery shells at American Manufacturing Company. Private Bill Harness, soldier, is shown with his hand on the lever of a finish turning lathe. Beside him Emma Dell White starts a machined 105-millimeter shell down the conveyor belt. Private Harness is wearing his uniform and Miss White is wearing a plaid shirt and trousers. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 29, 1945.
