Portrait photograph of Lieutenant W. E. Chilton Junior, 29, of the United States Navy. Lieutenant Chilton is en route to reboard his ship after spending two weeks at the home of his parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Chilton. Lieutenant Chilton has participated in the invasions of Sicily, Salesno, Anzio and Southern France. He is a graduate of Central (now Paschal) High School and of the University of Texas. Prior to entering service in January 1942, he was in the cotton business in Houston. He received his Navy training at Annapolis and left for overseas duty the first time in the fall of 1942. He is shown wearing his military uniform. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, evening edition, January 19, 1945.
