Description
Private First Class L. A. Clem, Dallas, with the 36th Division in France sent home two medals presented him by Lieutenant General Mark W. Clack in Italy, the Silver Star and Purple heart awarded for gallantry and wound received on January 20, 1944, at the Rapido River crossing. The medals are being kept by Clem's sister, Mrs. Jeff W. Ward of Dallas. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 12, 1945.
