Lieutenant, Junior Grade (Lt. Jg.) George W. Mills, of Arlington, Texas, has been continually serving in the Navy and Marines since September 20, 1920. Lieutenant (Lt.) Mills started out as a machinist mate and wears several battle stars. He also, wears the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for directing the extinguishing of a fire aboard a ship. He was in on the second invasion of the Philippines on two raids early in November. He served in China and the Philippines from 1930 to 1933. He is on leave before reporting to Jacksonville, Florida, where he will be assigned to shops in the overhauling of airplanes. He is a native of Fort Worth. His mother Mrs. J. L. Gray, has lived in the family home. His wife and son, George W. Junior (Jr.) have lived in Arlington since the war started. Lieutenant (Lt.) Mills is in Fort Worth, Texas, visiting in the home of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Mills, 1000 E. Broadway. He is shown seated on a couch with his legs crossed and his hands folded and facing front. He is dressed in military uniform.
