Description

Corporal (Corp.) William D. Zumwalt Junior (Jr.) has returned home after thirty-one months overseas with the Army Air Force. He served with an aviation engineer's battalion in the Alaskan-Aleutian area. He is visiting his father, W. D. Zumwalt, Senior (Sr.). The Corporal's (Corp.) visit home included three celebrations -- Christmas, New Year, and his twenty-fifth birthday on January 17. He entered the service in November 1941 and left for overseas in May, 1942. During his tour of duty, he underwent several bombing attacks and wears a battle star on his campaign ribbons. He is shown standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform. He attended Jennings Avenue Junior High School. He was formerly in the contracting business with his father here in Fort Worth, Texas. He has two brothers and two sisters.
