Second Lieutenant (Lt.) Gilbert W. Retz is a twenty-year old officer in the United States Army. He is home in Fort Worth, Texas, visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ernest A. Retz. Lieutenant Retz is en route to Camp Wolters on assignment as an infantry tactics instructor. He is a graduate of Sam Houston High School in Houston, Texas and was attending Texas A&M when he entered the service in December, 1942. He was trained at Fort Benning, Georgia. Lieutenant (Lt.) Retz is shown standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform and a winter coat. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 20, 1944.
