Description
Disappointing results were reported in the citywide collection of tin cans. Around thirty tons of the badly needed war material was picked up, but were not properly processed and therefore could not be handled. Pictured are Elton Hyder, committee chairman and J. Gachman, extreme right, president of St. Louis Waste Material Corporation. They are shown aiding in assembling the pile of tin cans for shipment. Behind the men are railroad tracks.
