Description

Brock Short, Soundman Second Class, has been awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he received aboard the escort carrier St. Louis in the naval battle off Leyte. Mr. Short was hit by shrapnel in the head, side and thigh. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Short. He is pictured wearing his military uniform. A message written along the top reads "Your loving son, Brock".
