Corporal James Ray Cargile, Monahans, Texas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lee Cargile, was awarded the Purple Heart which his wife received. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Sprouse of Baird. Corporal Cargile is a member of the Cavalry Reconnaissance squadron with the 1st Army, who was wounded in action in Germany, September 5. The photo is a copy of another photo. He is wearing a hat cocked to the side. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 24, 1944.
