Curtis L. Walker, bakery company executive, was elected as president of Fort Worth Kiwanis Club fort he 1945 term. He was chosen by a rising vote of the membership at the club's luncheon at Hotel Texas, after the nomination by the board of directors had been presented by Hatcher Pickens, incumbent president. Walker has been a member of the club since 1931, served as secretary in 1935, and as a director in 1937, 1942, 1943-44. He also is a director of Glen Garden Country Club, is a member of Broadway Baptist Church and of Moslah Temple Shrine. Walker was born May 4, 1898 in Oklahoma. He was graduated from old Central High School in 1915 and played sandlot baseball with the teams of the Adkins-Polk Whole sale Grocery Company and Fort Worth Power & Light Company. He and his wife, the former Miss Alvah Turner of Fort Worth, lived at 3221 Green. Walker's son, Danny, 16, is a junior student in Paschal High and plays right half on the Paschal football team.
