Description
For one month after Technical Sergeant Leonard Pritchett went out on his 28th mission as engineer on the B-24 Never a Dull Moment last July over Yugoslavia, there was no word of his beyond the terse "missing in action". His plane's destination mission was Ploesti. German fighters shot down his plane and Sgt. Pritchett had to bail out. Upon landing he was taken in by Balkan peasants who helped him and the rest of his crew return to their base. The young flier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan W. Pritchett of Spur, Texas has been awarded the Air Medal with one cluster and the Purple Heart and has been recommended for the Distinguished Flying Cross. Sgt. Pritchett is standing against a wall wearing his military uniform.
