Description
First Lieutenant Zack S. Sensibaugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Maley of Decatur, Texas, wearing his military uniform. He returned home on leave after completing 67 combat missions. He visits his brother, Orville Sensibaugh of 1710 Homan, Fort Worth, Texas, and his fiancee, Miss Virginia Ann Christian of Decatur. He named his P-51 "Gin" for his fiancee. He was a member of an 8th Air Force group that was twice cited by the President for destroying 150 enemy planes in a month and again for chalking up 207 enemy aircraft the next month. He has been awarded the Distinguished Unit Badge with one cluster, the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Meal with three clusters. On his European Theater of Operations (ETO) ribbon are four combat star for escorting bombing missions over Berlin, Normandy on D-Day and shuttle missions to Russia and Italy.
