Description
Private J. K. Chancy displaying the 18-foot black Italian fascist flag he captured on a raiding party near Anzio beachhead, before a shrapnel wound in the right eye caused him to be invalided back from the front. He is not keeping the flag but says it would make a good bonfie on the Armistice Day of this war. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 15, 1944.
