Description
Lieutenant Commander Dan Henry, head of Fort Worth-Dallas Navy recruiting area. Commander Henry, formerly stationed at Columbia, South Carolina, plans to stress the two outstanding procurement needs of the Navy, the radio technician and air combat crewmen. Henry, a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, entered Navy at the age of 21 as a member of the Michigan Naval Reserve. In 1916, he organized the Navel Reserve Unit in Grand Rapids. He was commissioned a lieutenant in February, 1917, and served in World War I. In this picture, he is standing in front of a wall wearing a military uniform. There is a photograph on the wall behind him. The photo is a group of women looking at a plane propeller. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, November 9, 1944.
