Description
H. N. Tarpley, twenty-two, Radioman First Class, returned home after sixteen months in the Southwest Pacific. He is spending his thirty-day leave with his mother, Mrs. F. W. Tarpley. He served with a PT boat squadron, which was twice cited by the President for its excellent work in patrolling the area. Tarpley is a graduate of McGregor High School and was recruited with the "Avengers" of Pearl Harbor in June, 1942. Tarpley is standing against a wall wearing his military uniform.
