Major Alfred E. Coffey, home on leave after 32 months in the Southwest Pacific , shows his wife the Silver Star he was awarded for gallantry in action on Biak where he served as intelligence officer with the infantry. In the picture you can see both of them smiling, Maj. Coffey is sitting on the couch arm, and he has his arm over his wife, his wife appears to be sitting on the couch and she is wearing a floral patterned dress, stockings, and a pearl necklace.
